Baigali – The first Mongolian Biodiversity App
The
GIZ SPACES project has developed and recently launched a mobile app and website
called "Mongolian Biodiversity". The app provides information about
all living things in Mongolia – birds, plants, mammals, insects, spiders, etc.
If users come across animals or plants they don't know, they can identify them
with the help of the app's expert scientists and researchers. All they have to
do is take a screenshot of it and send it in. The app can be downloaded from
the Play Store and App Store and is free of charge.
It is
the ultimate goal of the app developers to enable every Mongolian to know,
observe, love and protect the animals and plants around them. By providing the
information users send to Mongolia's leading non-governmental organizations and
scientists, they contribute to the study and protection of biodiversity.
Feedback on how to improve the app can be sent to info@biodiversity. Also,
researchers and biologists who would like to work with the Mongolian
Biodiversity Foundation, may contact the organization at info@biodiversity.
