Together with MET DPAM, the SPACES project has produced an illustrated, downloadable comic on “Guidelines for Visitors of Protected Areas” based on the international ‘Leave No Trace’ principles, and “Protected Areas – Safeguarding Mongolia’s Life Support System” about protected area policies and management without which Mongolia’s economic and ecological life support systems will not survive.

SPACES also produced flyers on Protected Areas – Safeguarding Mongolia´s Life Support System, Gorkhi Terelj National Park, Khan Khentii Strictly protected area, Orkhon Valley PA that can be downloaded here. The flyers for visitors of the Khan Khenti, Gorkhi Terelj and Orkhon Valley PAs include a map, tourism information, an explanation on the respective ecosystem and what visitors can do to protect a protected area.
WWF Ulaanbaatar office has created a “Spotty Friend” series of three comics. The comics address young people so they better understand human-wildlife relations and protect snow leopards. WWF Khovd has also created short video clips on snow leopard and saiga as endangered animals, human-wildlife conflicts, forestation, and reviving natural springs.  

Mongol Content media has been producing the “Nogun” comic series since 2014. This softcover comic has covered 20 environmental issues on Mplus + app and Facebook official page. Mongol content collaborated with UNDP, creating a comic about the Protection of biodiversity of Khuvsgul Aimag

The People-Centered Conservation (PCC) NGO published “Welcome in the Big Country with A Warm Heart. A Practical Guide on Community Based Tourism” on how to set up and implement successful models of community-based tourism that promote long-term benefits to people’s livelihood while encouraging and safeguarding the environment, including PAs. The handbook also serves as a comprehensive resource book for environment and tourism agencies at aimag level, trainers in this field, and tour operators to some extent. It contributes to effort to conserve PAs by reaching out to its primary guardians – herders. PCC also created guidelines on improving governance of pastoral land, and a comic on responsible governance of natural resources.
